Why that name? 

"Akemi" is a feminine Japanese name that translates to "bright and beautiful" and "Ko" translates to "big"

I had wanted a pup sired by Akemi's sire for a long time because I love his broad powerful body and enormous head.    When Akemi's litter was born, there was also another litter that he sired to her dam's sister, due shortly thereafter so I was going to wait.  Akemi looked just like her sire in body type as well as markings.  I kept my eye on her as she grew up, still thinking that I would get a pup from the younger litter.  In the end, I couldn't pass up the headpiece that sat atop Akemi.  I loved her from birth and can't wait to see what she develops into.  I have other dogs tied to both sides of her bloodline so it will be fun for me to see their similarities as Akemi matures....
