Personality: Dukey spends his time pondering what he can do next to make me crazy! He likes to eats metal, especially empty dog food cans or pieces of fencing. He looks like a lizard from constantly slitting his tongue, don't worry it isn't a wound, more like a X-men trait. He likes to climb things. It is not uncommon for me to walk in a room and find him standing on my antique buffet or my hutch; things that aren't exactly low to the ground. He enjoys harassing the other dogs in whatever way possible and is relentless with girls in heat. He does not care how much they say no or how hard they bite him, he will mate them regardless. He is so strong that he is unstoppable and has run through a wooden door and a wall to get to girls in heat on the other side. He can also climb 6 foot fences when a female peaks his interest on the other side. One of his favorites aggrevations is to sneak up to the window of the room that Tiamo and Mikita are soundly sleeping in and bang on the window to scare them awake! He gets tickled out of see Tiamo jump up and run at the window! You would think that after hundreds of times doing this, it would get old but NO SUCH LUCK. We lovingly refer to Dukey as Duke-a-saurus Rex-the-house as he is like a walking time bomb to turn into the Dukey Tornado. He is, however, extremely lovable and gentle with humans. He loves tiny puppies but does occassionally forget his size. Sake does allow him to witness her whelps and he very quietly watches contently as puppies are born. As they get older, he sticks his head over our gate at the doorway so that he can watch the puppies playing. They like to run to him and bat at his face and he will stand there all day watching in amazement. Although he likes to run things, it isn't with an iron fist. He just wants first dibs on food. He is very accepting of visitors and new animals. He doesn't like automatic doors and can't figure out which part he dislikes more, his reflection or the fact that when he bulks up to them, they slide open! (I never get tired of laughing at that!) I sometimes think that Dukey will grow forever. He is our tallest, longest, heaviest and bulkiest male and is not finished filling out! His paws are bigger than any man's palm that I have seen! He is going to be the true gently giant!
