Why that name?: Kiku is the word for chrysanthymum which is the family crest of the Japanese Imperial family. Masako is the name of one of the princesses and hime is the actual word meaning princess. Although the emperor of Japan is now more of a figure head for the nation, it is the oldest hereditary monarchy in the entire world!
