Kabuto's Spreadn Rumors, also known as Rumor, is a home bred boy from a litter of four.  I also kept his litter sister, Clemmy.  His other two brothers were placed as pets in their forever home.  His father is JR who he is named after.  His mother is Kujo.  Rumor got the best of both of his parents in looks and personality characteristics.  Like dad, Rumor is heavy boned with a great coat and huge head.  Like mom, he has beautiful eyes are small thick ears and is a talker which I love.  He also gets moms brains as he is an extremely intelligent male.  Rumor gets along with females of any size as a general rule but does not like males of any size as is expected of an in tact Akita.  He has been known to play and share food with my Shiba, Sierra and he loves every female Akita he has met thus far, but one or two at a time.  Rumor is not a good match for large group play.  He is better on a one on one or two basis with other dogs.  When there is more than a couple of dogs with him, he starts to be a little too intimidating.

Rumor loves to wrestle and be petted and, although you would think as you enter my yard that he might rip off your arm, once you walk up and pet him, he has never known a stranger.  Rumor is a big beefy boy so the rougher your play the more he loves it.   Of course this is when you are accompanied by a family member.  Rumor loves everyone.  He hasn't met alot of children but as far as adults go, he likes all shapes and sizes.  His favorite toys are balls, especially soccer balls with ropes through them and his forever favorite, jolly balls with ropes through them as well as all things stuffed.  He also makes his own toys out of scatter rugs, buckets, and things of that nature.  Rumor can entertain himself for hours throwing things around his play yard and chasing them down.  He also likes to dribble around his balls and then toss them through the air and give chase.  If another dog starts to play too, he gets distracted and wants to wrestle them - this is mostly a game for just himself. 

Size:  Rumor was 100 pounds at his last weight check which was 8 months but is obviously bigger now as Akitas continue to grow and fill out until they are four years old.  He will not reach his father's highest weight (at his prime, according to his breeder, he was 141) as Rumor is much shorter than JR, but he is just as thick as dad so he certainly is not finished growing.  Overall, Rumor is a fairly short stocky male.  However, while I say he is short, that is based on owning some giant boys, no one that has visited Rumor thinks there is anything small about him because when you first see him you think he is a beast!  :-) While he is a big beast, he is an even bigger teddy bear and will do just about anything to lean on you or have you wrestle him!

Rumor sired his first litter bred to Kiku.  He sired his second litter to Katana.  He sired his third litter to Aisu.  Rumor sired his fourth litter to Tomo.
