According to his breeder, who named him, Taichi means "thick one".  Taichi is a sweet young man. We bought him as a show dog which he turned out not to be but we knew he would make a lovely only pet. He was never be bred, we got him as a young adult wanted to place him so that he could get more one on one attention since he turned out not to be a show/breeding prospect. He loves to be brushed because he enjoys the individual attention and will sit at your feet for as long as you are willing to brush or rub him and he loves to hug. He likes to walk with you and doesn't pull on lead. He gets excited when we come home or enter a room but other than that he is a really low key boy. He doesn't mark furniture or things of this nature other than outdoors and is fully poddy trained. He is crate trained and enjoys his crate which we leave open for him to sleep in. This is where his dog bed is. He free feeds so food and water is available all the time and he does well with this as an only dog, or with his buddy, Aisu, but otherwise would fight over food with another large dog. He loves stuffed animals and is great for baths and enjoys this individual attention as well. He stays indoors during the day while its warm and goes out to play at night. He loves ceramic tile to sleep on in the summer. He would do well with a jogger because I think he would love to run. He likes routine and schedules, things that he can be used to that will stay the same. He is currently underweight; a lanky teenager, party due to our climate. In the winter we will go back to scrambled eggs to try to add some weight to him which is pointless in the Arizona summer because its too hot for a good appetite. He will eat whatever you give him and does not beg.
