Gennaoshi Yoshi MacLeod - Why that name?  I had always liked the name Yoshi so I knew I wanted to name this young lady Yoshi before she was even born.  I tried to find something suitable that matched it.  I had been having some bad luck around that time and had just moved and felt like I needed a change and that is exactly what Yoshi's name represents - a friend about to change one's luck.   Yoshi has certainly lived up to her name.  She is a cheerful, extremely agile and TOTALLY dedicated girl Momma's girl!  She gets along with everyone for the most part.  She has always gotten along with everyone unless they pick on her.  Because of my life's turmoil when I got Yoshi she was BARELY socialized yet she is extremely social and super obedient!  I took her out for her first REAL outing at 2 years, otherwise she has always stayed inside our home and visitors are a rarity other than to pick up puppies.  On her first outing we went to Chic Fillet and had breakfast where she got petted by everyone that walked by our outdoor table, some employees and several tiny children whom she covered with kisses very gently as is the "Yoshi Way"!  She is EXTREMELY submissive with our family and is still a submissive pee-er when she gets excited about pets.   She is a total love and wants everyone to allow her to hug and sit in their lap - forget how big she is.

Yoshi is a medium height stocky girl with great bone, coat and tail set when she is not wagging vigorously.  She weighs about 80 to 85 pounds in the summer and 90 to 95 in the winter due to our desert climate.  She never carries full optimum weight as I find is true with most overly agile females but should be a bit larger once she is spayed and slows down a bit.  She is extremely agile and has great conformation and can easily walk great distances on her hind legs, usually in front of me to hoard my attention.   Yoshi's ear was injured by a visiting bitch and I mistook the severity, assuming that when a puncture wound healed it would stand back up and it did not.  We might eventually choose to surgically correct this.  Yoshi yodas her ears often to begin with so having one half way down looks especially goofy but we love her just the same!  Yoshi has tons of coat and it is a great length but actually too soft.  It should be coarser than it is, as it is almost the consistency of long coat fluff so I believe, based on the length of her fur that she was borderline to being a long coat.  Although the coarseness is not correct according to the standard, it is still showable and not a fault.  As I produce mostly pets, people like this quality in Yoshi because the puppies out of her sometimes inherit this velvetine-like coat.

Yoshi's first litter was by Dan.  Her second litter was by Po.
